The ACC (Army Cadet College) wing at Indian Military Academy prepares for regular army, navy, and air force soldiers, airmen, and sailors for the commission as officers in the Indian Army.

Candidates who aspire to be admitted to Army Cadet College (ACC)  have to pass the written test and subsequent selection via the service selection board. The ACC exam syllabus is divided into four papers. The papers are further divided by sections and topics that have been discussed below.

Indian Army ACC Entry Exam Exam Pattern

PAPER-1: GENERAL MENTAL ABILITY TEST (GMAT)

General Mental Ability Test (GMAT) has 150 objective type questions of two marks each. The paper has three sections-

  • Reasoning ability- 75 questions- 150 marks.
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning- 15 questions- 30 marks
  • Numerical Ability- 60 Questions- 120 Marks.

PAPER- 2: CURRENT GENERAL AWARENESS TEST (CGAT)

This paper consists of 150 objective type questions of two marks each. The topics that could be addressed in this section are- Environmental Awareness in general, Current events, National and International Happening, and Military Awareness.

PAPER-3: INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH (ICE)

There will be Interactive Communication English. The first paper will consist of 120 objective type questions of one mark each. The second paper will consist of descriptive type questions for 180 marks.

PAPER-4: ACADEMIC CONTENT TEST (ACT)

The paper consists of Mathematics, General Science, and Humanities. There will be a total of 150 marks of three marks each. The distribution of the marks are as under-

  • Section A: Mathematics: 50 Questions: 100 marks
  • Section B: General Science: 50 Questions:100 Marks
  • Section C: Humanities: 50 Questions: 100 Marks
